There has to be a cost-saving somewhere in comparison to the Pro model and this is one of the areas so if you do want optical zoom, have a look at the Google Pixel 6. Instead, you get 7X digital zoom and we'd not recommend using it as anything above 2X loses quality quickly. Lens Performance - One place the Google Pixel 6 does let us down is with zoom as there's no optical zoom available. We'll stop praising the camera soon but just before we do, can we also mention the portrait mode which we used when we wanted to introduce bokeh to various shots as it also does this brilliantly with no clipping. Although, we'd not recommend using the zoom options when working in low light as every frame we captured was out of focus.
We also have to applaud the Pixel 6's low light capabilities as noise is kept to a minimum and even when capturing shots handheld, they're shake-free and offer a good amount of detail. The way sky is balanced against foreground is excellent as are the levels of richness in the colours with Autumn shades really singing from the frame. There's some really clever technology built into the Google Pixel 6 and the results show that, even in low light. The true-to-life colours are exceptional as is dynamic range and detail/sharpness. Sample Photos - To be honest, all we really need to say is that the image quality from the Google Pixel 6 is superb.
